was brutally injured on October 8, 2022 in the Kurdish city of Sanandaj in Iran by being shot directly in the face with a tear gas canister. He broke his zygomatic & cranial bone as well as his upper jaw and orbital bone and lost his left eye. The Iranian secret service wanted to arrest him because they had started to publish his story. When the threat became too great, he was forced to leave Iran, although he was struggling with severe pain and serious inflammation. A hospital stay in Tehran, however, would have led to his certain arrest. The Munich Circle e.V. was in contact with him very early on and, in close cooperation with the German authorities, made it possible for him to enter Germany. Now he can live in safety and receive the medical treatment he needs without the constant fear of arrest.
